While the idea of the “beautification of the web” is not a new one, it’s clear that it needs to be re-defined once in a while. Not much has changed since 2012, when this article was written, as we see that the emphasis of “less is more” and “simplicity” remain the mantra, and mobile is the new benchmark for usability of anything web-based.
This is a great reminder of how the delivery of content is just as, if not more, important than the content itself. We make countless split second decisions each day that determine what we will and won’t let into our scope of attention, and design is a significant influence in those decisions.
