Let's Talk.
About Find and Convert

We help small and medium size businesses be found on the web and convert more sales opportunities for them…

We are an inbound marketing agency. The term “inbound marketing” has become popular because it encompasses broad aspects of marketing on the Internet. The idea is simple. Develop strategies that allow your prospects to find you and engage you on the web.

We are also known as an SEO company. In recent years a sound SEO strategy was enough to “be found” on the web. Now, it’s imperative to engage your prospective buyers more broadly on the web. Our services include: SEO | PPC | Social Media Marketing | Content Marketing | Web Analytics.

We often hear people say that marketing on the web is changing rapidly. It’s harder than ever to create and maintain a winning strategy on the web. But, what choice do you have? Can you afford to ignore the web?

Most buyers seek out products and services from two sources:

1) Searching the Internet
2) Asking others for referrals

The “search” part has expanded beyond search engines. The “referral” part refers to the influence anyone can have on your brand just based on his or her experience, knowledge or consumption of content. Good experiences with your brand get referred well. Bad experiences with your brand get passed on exponentially more. The risk of ignoring the broad web is very dangerous.

A Little Web History

1990 to 2000 - Most businesses developed their first website. Websites were a one way communication medium from the seller to the buyer. Most businesses had little understanding of organic search engine optimization or pay-per-click advertising to “be found” by buyers. Websites served mostly as an online company brochure. The strategic value of corporate websites was generally low for most businesses.

2000 to 2010 - Most businesses evolved through their second or third generation websites. Strategic value of corporate websites skyrocketed as 24/7 marketing/selling was recognized. Marketing efforts to be found through SEO and paid search marketing have become prominent among businesses of all sizes. Job descriptions and job titles in some marketing organizations include words like “Internet,” “digital,” “online,” “community.” Web 2.0 has evolved to make websites interactive. Being social on the web is not just acceptable for businesses, it’s a necessity.

The Broad Web Footprint

To be found by buyers, you must create a broad footprint on the web with diverse content. Since the first decade is not yet over, there is still time for sellers to jump on this bandwagon.

Sure, being found in Google through organic SEO is still very important to most businesses. And, pay-per-click advertising (aka SEM), is also a terrific way to be found, as long as you’re using best practices. But, being found in a search engine is a limited view of effective inbound marketing on the web.

Buyers Buy Differently Than They Did Last Decade

A prospective buyer contacted me recently. When I asked him how he “found” us he didn’t remember exactly where he found us on the web. He told me that during the previous week he visited our website, my blog and listened to one of my podcasts. By the time he contacted us, he already had considerable insight into my inbound marketing agency and me. He was ready to speak with me. He was ready to make a buying decision. He had consumed my content long before he called me. I even suggest that he had begun a relationship with Find and Convert before he contacted us.

Build Relationships with Buyers Before They Contact You

Isn’t that how you search? Don’t you consume content about vendors and read what others say about them? Don’t you form an opinion about vendors based on how effectively they share content with you. I’m not just referring to a vendor’s website. What if a vendor you consider has a good blog with compelling content? Compelling video? White papers? Podcasts? Social networking pages with informative content? What if they build relationships with their community in a non-selling manner through all this content? What if they show up on page one in Google for relevant keywords?

As we approach the end of the first decade in the new millennium, the control has shifted to buyers. Sellers whose mindset embraces this shift will implement broad marketing plans that integrate offline and online strategies designed to engage buyers on their terms. Outdated, interruptive marketing tactics are becoming less and less effective.

My book Marketing 2.0: Bridging the Gap Between Seller and Buyer through Social Media Marketing describes the leap from marketing 1.0 to marketing 2.0. Sellers can bridge this gap by creating a broad footprint on the web.

Find and Convert is a Marketing 2.0 agency. We are in the business of helping SMBs get found on the web and convert relationships into measurable results.

About the Founder: Bernie Borges

Our Beloved Top Dog: Bernie BorgesI founded Find and Convert in 2002 because of my passion for helping companies implement practical marketing strategies that produce measurable results. In my corporate career, I've run marketing departments with accountability for producing sales opportunities.

I've also run sales organizations and I know first hand how important it is to have marketing plans that produce qualified leads so the sales team can spend more time selling. I know first hand what it takes to succeed in sales and what it takes to produce marketing programs that set up the Sales team for success.

I maintain an active blog on web marketing topics. I also record podcast interviews with interesting guests. I’ve recorded several videos as branded content and also published on YouTube. I speak at industry conferences and private events by invitation. Most recently, my new book: Marketing 2.0: Bridging the Gap between Seller and Buyer through Social Media Marketing has become available. I hope you’ll pick up a copy.

I spent 20 years in the software industry before starting my inbound marketing agency, Find and Convert based in beautiful Tampa Bay, FL. I have worked for bottom line oriented bosses all my life, and I still do (our clients).
