RSS is at the heart of Web 2.0. 

RSS stands for (Really Simple Syndication) and it allows people to subscribe to your content.  Whenever you see the universal RSS icon image, which is usually hyperlinked to a web feed, you can subscribe to the content from which it is linked.
RSS is one of the main characteristics of Web 2.0 because you are able to provide your audience (your community) the ability to stay informed of your content as it changes or gets updated. 

Examples of content you can RSS enable include podcasts, newsletters, press releases, blog entries and any content on your website that changes frequently enough to warrant RSS enabling! 

RSS feeds come in different forms.  There are many RSS feedreaders or aggregators ranging from Google Reader, YAHOO!, NewsCrawler, Windows Live, NewsGator and Bloglines and others. Users subscribe to your “feed” simply by clicking the RSS icon in their browser.  This will create the subscription process.  As the reader checks their subscribed feeds, the most recent entries of subscribed content are displayed.

RSS enabled content is a terrific part of your Internet Marketing strategy.  You can and should consider offering content to your community to keep them informed on topics of interest to them.  The content you offer doesn’t necessarily need to be your content.

WEB 2.0 Assessment Overview

Background
Most businesses want to see their website rank well in Google, Yahoo and MSN (Live).  These search engines are recognized as the big three.  But, driving qualified traffic to your website is no longer limited to the big three.  The evolution of web properties known as Web 2.0 has produced many new (and not so new) ways to deliver traffic to your website.  And new ways are being innovated every day in Optimizing Web 2.0 Social Media Marketing.

Web 2.0 Assessment Summary
Find and Convert will conduct a Web 2.0 assessment outlining possibilities to consider for lead producing Internet Marketing strategies from Web 2.0 properties.  The primary purpose of the assessment is to identify high level strategies to consider in Web 2.0. 

Why Web 2.0?
The term Web 2.0 was coined by Tim O’Reilly in 2004.  It refers to internet properties that allow communities of people to collaborate and form communities.  The collective influence of communities in Web 2.0 properties is very powerful.  People’s facts and opinions are shaped greatly when they participate in communities in Web 2.0.  There is growing evidence that buyers of technology products and services spend time researching vendors in blogs and other Web 2.0 sites.   Therefore, marketers must become knowledgeable about the opportunities and the rules of engagement in Web 2.0 social media realm. 

The Web 2.0 Assessment:
